Changing the purposes of your charity PDF

This guidance (in PDF) will help you with your application to change the purposes of your charity. To be entered and stay entered in the Scottish Charity Register,a charity must meet the charity test. One of the main requirements of the charity test is that a charity must have only charitable purposes. A charity's purposes say what it has been set up to achieve and reflect its broad aims. If you want to change your charity's purposes, this change must not result in the charity no longer having charitable purposes. That would cause it to fail the charity test. To make sure that this does not happen read this guidance document. Click here to read publication
