How would you like to search?
Basic search
1. Search for a charity by its registered number
Each recognised Scottish charity has been issued with a six-digit reference number with the suffix SCxxxxxx. Enter the six digit number with or without the 'SC' to find a charity. Please ensure that you enter '0' (zero) and not 'O' immediately after SC where you use these initial letters.
2. Search using keywords
You may also search by word/s in the charity name or address. This search is a keyword search, meaning the results will include all the words identified, although not necessarily in the order specified.
Advanced Search
An advanced search allows you to include additional criteria to the basic search. This includes information on income and charitable purposes.
3. Search using a charity's objects. (This information is not yet available for every charity.)

4. Search using an income range
Insert lower and upper limits to add these criteria to your search.
5. Search by charitable purposes
Click on one or more of the charitable purposes listed to add these to your search.
6. Search for ceased charities.
Tick the box to search only for records of ceased charities
Results
The result will be either ‘No charities matching your criteria were found’ or a comprehensive list of all charities that match the criteria stipulated in the search.
