SORP research programme
Charity Conference: 4 December, Westminster, Central London
The timing of the launch of the SORP research findings on shaping the future of charity reporting coincides with the Accounting Standards Board (ASB) issuing a consultation on the future of accounting and reporting in the UK.
This Conference launched the report by Queen's University Belfast on the outcome of the SORP research exercise. The exercise began with an initial Forum in April 2008 followed by 28 round tables held in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, the English regions and London. We heard from funders, government funders, charities small and large, practitioners and professional advisers.
Over a thousand people took part and you can view the research report, Charity Reporting and Accounting: Taking Stock and Future Reform, here.
The Conference also heard from Ian Mackintosh on the ASB's plans for the future and their consultation exercise which closes on 1st February 2010. You can view the Conference agenda and Powerpoint presentations using the links below.
